CALVERTON, MD (September 23, 2022) – The Intermodal Association of North America commends the Senate’s vote to approve the nomination of Robin Hutcheson as Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

"IANA welcomes the news of Administrator Hutcheson’s confirmation by unanimous consent. The Association has developed a decades-long working relationship with the FMCSA, and we look forward to our continuing collaboration in the areas of safety, data-sharing and industry-compliance tools,” said Joni Casey, president & CEO of IANA.

Examples of IANA’s work with the Administration include participating in the original roadability regulations, currently reviewing the rule for possible revisions, and obtaining a waiver for chassis mechanics certification in connection with the IANA Guide to Chassis Inspection and Repair. The FMCSA and IANA have also partnered in the development and maintenance of IANA’s Global Intermodal Equipment Registry (GIER) and the Driver Vehicle Examination Reports (DVER).
