The economy has taken a big hit from the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the intermodal world has not been immune. This, on top of the tariff issues that already were in play, has affected the business. Now, more than ever, it’s important to know the facts regarding where intermodal stands and what the trends are.
To help our members and the intermodal community navigate through these turbulent waters, IANA is launching a free monthly webinar series, Intermodal Analyzed. Join leading intermodal analyst Larry Gross, “The Intermodalist”, as he imparts his knowledge and makes use of new analytical tools such as IANA’s Intermodal Volume Analyzer to paint the big picture in intermodal while also pointing out the important messages in the numbers. For a quick and insightful look into the state of intermodal, be sure to sign up for Intermodal Analyzed.

Intermodal operators across the value chain – carriers, terminal operators, drayage companies, equipment providers, and others – are facing significant disruptions associated with the COVID-19 crisis. But perhaps a more significant concern is the uncertainty moving forward – there is no consensus on when and to what extent this market will recover. Faced with expensive assets and high fixed costs, it is critical for intermodal operators to take near term steps to effectively navigate this crisis while at the same time positioning their operations to best operate in an uncertain future.
