UPS Official Kurt Kuehn Gives Industry Keynote Address Expo/TransComp/TIA

Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Marketing to Speak on Key Issues

CALVERTON, MD and Arlington, VA, September 19—Kurt Kuehn, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for UPS, will deliver the industry keynote address at the transportation industry’s most influential meeting, which brings together the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) from November 10-14 in Atlanta.

Kuehn is a native of South Bend, Indiana whose distinguished 30-year career at UPS has included executive positions in the operations, industrial engineering, finance and marketing departments. A member of the UPS Management Committee, he played a key role in the company’s initial public offering of its stock during 1999. He attended Yale University, received a master’s degree from the University of Miami and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of both IANA’s Intermodal Expo and NITL’s TransComp Exhibition. 2007 is also a special year for both UPS and NITL as they both celebrate their 100th Anniversaries. This year all trade show space has been sold. More than 275 exhibitors will display the latest in transportation and logistics offerings. It is expected to draw 3,000 or more senior transportation and logistics officials.

Kuehn will speak on Monday morning, November 12. James and Meredith Olson, noted security experts, will deliver closing remarks one day later. This year’s meeting also features 12 topical seminars that will draw strong interest from the freight transportation community, including critical subjects such as infrastructure financing, pricing, capacity, energy and environmental issues.

As in past years, the annual membership meetings of IANA and the NITL will be conducted in conjunction with the event, while the TIA will host its fall meeting. The organizations also have scheduled committee and division meetings during the five-day event.

For additional information about the organizations, please see their individual Web sites. The Web sites are: www.intermodal.org, www.nitl.org and www.tianet.org. For information about the trade show, such as exhibiting, please see www.freightexpo.net.
