UPS CEO Eskew Is Keynote Speaker for IANA/NITL/TIA Meeting

2007 TransComp Exhibition/Intermodal Expo to be Held November 11-13, 2007 in Atlanta

CALVERTON, MD and Arlington, VA, June 15—UPS Chief Executive Michael Eskew will be the keynote speaker for the transportation industry’s most influential meeting, which brings together the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) from November 10-14 in Atlanta.

Eskew, who has led the world’s biggest package delivery company since 2002, will speak on the morning of November 12 at the Opening General Session to share his insights on key industry issues. The three organizations also announced today that noted international security experts James and Meredith Olson will be the closing speakers on November 13.

UPS has grown both revenue and profit by more than 50 percent since Eskew, a native of Vincennes, Indiana, was named chief executive in 2002, achieving growth by expanding its supply chain, motor carrier and air freight services and increasing its core package business. Eskew, who is a graduate of Purdue University and the Advanced Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania, has also led UPS to develop more sophisticated customer-focused technology.

The closing keynote address will be given by James and Meredith Olson, who have three decades of Central Intelligence Agency career experience. They will offer a unique, inside perspective about critical national security activities. Those issues are especially timely for freight companies and their leaders as global trade, supply chain services, and transportation continue a period of rapid expansion.

A series of topical and informative educational sessions have also been scheduled for the co-located events that annually draw an estimated 3,000 senior industry executives and offers unparalleled networking opportunities. In addition, this year will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of IANA’s Intermodal Expo and the 25th Anniversary of NITL’s TransComp Exhibition.

As in past years, the annual membership meetings of IANA and the NITL will be conducted in conjunction with the event, while the TIA will host its fall meeting.
