IANA Board of Directors Elects Frank Sonzala as New Chairman
CALVERTON, MD, November 17, 2006 — The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA)’s Board of Directors has elected Frank J. Sonzala as its chairman for the coming year.
Sonzala, executive vice president of Pressure Systems International Inc. of San Antonio, previously served as vice-chairman. He was elected on November 14 at IANA’s board of directors meeting during the Intermodal Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He succeeds Michael B. Wilson, vice president, equipment & logistics for Hamburg Sud North America Inc. of Morristown, New Jersey.
Theodore Prince, vice president of intermodal & international for Kansas City Southern of Kansas City, Missouri, was tapped to replace Sonzala as vice chairman for the coming year and Richard C. Coleman, president of the ContainerPort Group, Inc. of Cleveland, was re-elected as treasurer.
Four new directors were elected, and two directors, including Prince, were appointed. The newly elected directors are: Jeffrey Brashares, vice chairman – commercial sales, of Pacer Global Logistics of Dublin, Ohio, James Hertwig, president of CSX Intermodal of Jacksonville, Florida, Anthony Pacella, president of Cushing Transportation Inc. of Cicero, Illinois and Greg Stefflre, chief executive officer of Rail Delivery Services Inc. of Fontana, California. All four will serve a three-year term.
Jordan Ayers, who is vice president, chassis, of TAL International Inc. of North Kansas City, Missouri, was appointed for a one-year term.
IANA is North America's leading industry trade association representing the combined interests of the intermodal freight industry. IANA's membership includes railroads, water carriers and stacktrain operators; port authorities; intermodal truckers and over-the-road highway carriers; intermodal marketing and logistics companies; and suppliers to the industry such as equipment manufacturers, intermodal leasing companies and consulting firms. IANA's associate members include shippers, academic institutions, government entities and non-profit associations.
