COSCO's CAPT. WEI, NEW YORK TIMES'
SANGER ARE TOP 2006 INTERMODAL EXPO SPEAKERS

CALVERTON, MD, September 12, 2006 – Captain Wei Jiafu, chief executive of the COSCO Group, one of the world’s largest shipping companies, will deliver the keynote address on Nov. 13 at this year’s premier transportation event, co-hosted by the Intermodal Association of North America, the National Industrial Transportation League and the Transportation Intermediaries Association.

Capt. Wei has led the Chinese container shipping company since 1998, and is chairman of the China Shipowners’ Association and the China Federation of Industrial Economics. David Sanger, the New York Times’ White House correspondent, will deliver closing remarks on Nov. 14. Twelve knowledge-building educational sessions are scheduled in conjunction with the show that begins Nov. 12 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and will be attended by thousands of supply chain professionals. Early registration ends on Sept. 22.

This year’s educational sessions are complemented by more than 225 exhibitors on a 195,000 square-foot trade show floor. The Expo offers wide-ranging opportunities to reach key executives, renew business acquaintances and make new contacts. The knowledge-building sessions are focused on key industry issues such as infrastructure, congestion, security, the environment and crisis management.

Sanger’s distinguished 24-year career includes key roles on reporting teams that won two Pulitzer Prizes, journalism’s highest award.

IANA also will conduct its annual membership meeting on Nov. 13, and committee meetings on Nov. 10 and 11.

IANA is North America's leading industry trade association representing the combined interests of the intermodal freight industry. IANA's membership includes railroads, water carriers and stacktrain operators; port authorities; intermodal truckers and over-the-road highway carriers; intermodal marketing and logistics companies; and suppliers to the industry such as equipment manufacturers, intermodal leasing companies and consulting firms.
