2005 IANA SILVER KINGPIN AWARD
GOES TO INTERMODAL 'PARTNERS'

Greg and Judy Stefflre First Truckers to Receive Award

Anaheim, California, Nov. 15, 2005 — During the Opening General Session of the 2005 Intermodal Expo/TransComp, the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) presented its 2005 Silver Kingpin Award to Greg Stefflre and Judy Girard Stefflre for their career-long contributions toward advancing the interests of intermodal freight transportation. The Stefflre’s are the first “team” and the first motor carriers to receive the award since its inception.

Over 20 years ago, Judi and Greg purchased a small trucking company in Los Angeles, California. Judi used her visionary sense to reroute the business toward an emerging segment of the trucking industry called intermodal drayage. That company, Rail Delivery Services, thrived and Judi’s success at turning it around has been documented by Entrepreneur Magazine when it was included on their list of the Top 10 Woman-Owned Small Businesses in America. Judi’s dedication is not only to her company, but to the intermodal freight transportation industry as evidenced by the many leadership positions she has held throughout the years.

Greg is a lawyer-turned-trucker whose greatest legacy is his tireless effort involving the development of the only standard intermodal contract, the Uniform Intermodal Interchange Agreement—better known as the UIIA. He continues to foster this legacy by remaining active on the UIIA’s Executive Committee to ensure that the Agreement remains true to its vision. Greg has also served the industry on numerous boards and committees of intermodal-related organizations, and was instrumental in the creation of IANA and the ATA Intermodal Council.

“More important than their individual achievements, Judi and Greg embody the spirit of what intermodalism is designed to be—a true partnership. Without doubt, Judi and Greg truly are intermodal partners.”said Barry Michaels, IANA Chairman.
