IANA's membership roster of over 900 corporate members includes railroads—Class I, short-line and regional; water carriers and stacktrain operators; port authorities, intermodal truckers and over-the-road highway carriers; intermodal marketing and logistics companies; and suppliers to the industry, such as equipment manufacturers, leasing companies and consulting firms. IANA is organized into voting and non-voting memberships.
VOTING MEMBERSHIP
The voting membership category is comprised of five divisions as follows:
- 3PL—includes companies that act as shipping intermediaries, which arrange, purchase and sell intermodal freight shipments. Includes domestic and international freight forwarders, NVOCCs, logistics service providers and consolidators.
- Marine Division—includes companies that provide transportation of freight by water which has prior or subsequent movement by another mode of transportation. Also includes intermodal stacktrain transportation companies and, at a minimum, ramp-to-ramp freight delivery, plus port authorities and port terminal operators.
- Motor Carrier Division—includes companies that (1) provide truck transportation of freight which has a prior or subsequent movement by another mode of transportation, and/or (2) provide truck transportation of freight other than that which has a prior or subsequent movement by another mode of transportation.
- Rail Division—includes companies that provide intermodal rail transportation and associated intermodal terminal services.
- Supplier Division—includes companies that provide products or services to any member of the association. The Supplier Divison covers a broad spectrum of intermodal service and product related companies.
