IEP Roadability Reviews
Are you ready?
What to expect?
How to survive a FMCSA review!
This past June the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration began conducting educational "Roadability Reviews" of Intermodal Equipment Providers.
Since the 2008 publication of the Roadability regulations, the Intermodal industry has been working diligently to ensure full stakeholder compliance with these new requirements. Now the FMCSA is officially conducting the onsite Roadability Review with the designated IEP community.
A Roadability Review is an onsite examination of an IEP's vehicle maintenance and inspection process and the associated record keeping and administrative procedures that the IEP employs to ensure that intermodal chassis meet the regulatory requirements.
Although the FMSCA is not yet assigning a safety rating to IEPs based on the results of a roadability review, they can cite IEPs for violations and may impose civil penalties for non-compliant inspection, repair and maintenance programs. FMCSA may also prohibit non-compliant IEPs from tendering equipment from a particular or multiple locations if the agency determines the IEP's compliance failure constitutes and "imminent hazard."
Join the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and the Intermodal Association of North America to learn what the Roadability Review is all about. This webinar will cover the following Roadability Review topics:
- What are my regulatory responsibilities as an IEP?
- What can I do now to prepare?
- What is the latest with regard to the FMCSA's business rules for the roadability review?
- What will the inspectors do when they arrive?
- What types of information and documents will I need to provide?
Join the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and the Intermodal Association of North America to hear from those who are conducting the audits, as well as IEPs who have already experienced a review
