Intermodal Information Services

  • Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement (UIIA)—IANA administers the only standard equipment interchange contract in the industry that outlines the rules and regulations for the interchange of equipment among ocean carriers, railroads, leasing companies and intermodal trucking companies through the UIIA. IANA acts as a clearinghouse for the collection and dissemination of insurance information and supporting documentation necessary to meet the program requirements.
  • UIIA Web Validator—Provides 24 hours/7 days Internet access for Equipment Provider and Motor Carrier participants to obtain real-time UIIA status information. The new “User Interface” feature allows Motor Carriers to easily access authorized Equipment Providers’ addenda, as well as the ability to update their own contact and other company profile information online.
  • Terminal Feed Service—Provides direct data transmissions of information contained in the database to facilities (terminals, container yards and/or depots) on behalf of participating UIIA Equipment Providers. This service is offered to participating UIIA Equipment Providers in an effort to ensure that facilities they utilize receive real-time motor carrier status information in a timely and efficient manner. The service assists with expediting the interchange process and reducing unnecessary delays at the piers. A similar service is available for terminals, container yards and depots that wish to request UIIA motor carrier status information directly on behalf of UIIA Equipment Providers.
